Mission

The Mission of Veterans Freedom Square, Riverside Park is to recognize and honor area U.S. Military Veterans. Those who fought on the battlefields and those who served in support of them should be remembered and honored in recognition of the freedom they procured for future generations.

Let us never forget the sacrifices our men and women have made.

June 20: The committee planned and executed the first fundraising event. The event started with a parade honoring area veterans followed by a presentation of the Kansas Vietnam War Medallion to military veterans that served honorably on active duty between February 1961 and May 1975. Ryan Knop assisted in coordinating this effort. A fundraising auction topped off a day of honoring area Veterans and their families.
